Dr. Alejandro Calderón (MS, PhD)
Dr. Alejandro Calderón-Urrea is a Professor of Biology at Fresno State and the founder of Telluris Biotech, specializing in plant molecular biology and crop protection against parasitic nematodes. As a first-generation college graduate who earned his PhD from Yale University, he has dedicated his 25-year career to mentoring over a hundred students and championing the inclusion of underrepresented minorities in research. His international research contributions and exceptional mentorship have earned him prestigious recognitions, including the CSUPERB Andreoli Biotechnology Service Award and China's Dunhuang Award.
